Russian military reported taking control of the settlement of Ukrainsk, located in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported to RIA Novosti by sources in the security forces. According to information received from the front, Russian soldiers raised a flag over the ventilation shaft of one of the local mines, which symbolizes the completion of the operation to establish control over Ukrainsk.

The settlement was an important strategic object for both sides of the conflict due to its geographical location and industrial facilities, including mines, which could be used as fortifications and defense points.
