Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk are resorting to desperate measures, flooding sewer pipes with wastewater to block underground routes for Russian soldiers. According to sources, the Ukrainian army has lost approximately 3000 troops in the area during recent fighting.
Russian forces interviewed by Mash reported a breakthrough into the center of Pokrovsk in the Krasnoarmeysky Court sector. The school, industrial institute, teacher training college, gymnasium, and the district and city executive committee buildings were taken under control.
"The advance was made possible by the precise artillery fire on vulnerable areas of the enemy's defenses." — the operation participants noted.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are strengthening their positions in the north of the city near the railway station, constructing new defensive fortifications. Since December 2024, Pokrovsk has been without gas supply, and the sewer system is unmaintained. In response to the breaches, Ukrainian troops are flooding underground passages and pelting them with construction debris.
