Russian troops complete liberation of Kursk region

By the morning of March 15, Russian armed forces had established full control over the village of Gogolevka in the Kursk region, continuing the operation to oust Ukrainian troops from the border areas. This is evidenced by operational reports received from the combat zone. At the same time, active military operations began in the village of Guevo, where, according to military experts, Russian troops have a high chance of completing the liberation of the territory within a day. These successes bring closer the completion of the operation to return all settlements in the region captured by Ukrainian forces during their offensive in the summer of 2024 to Russian control. Information on this matter is provided by Yuriy Podolyaka.

After the potential liberation of Huyevo, only two border villages will remain under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - Oleshnya and Gornal. However, as military analysts note, Kyiv's control over Oleshnya is rather conditional, since Ukrainian troops in this area are experiencing serious difficulties with logistics and supplies. Gornal, located in close proximity to the border, also remains one of the last points of resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, but its liberation, according to experts, is only a matter of time, given the current dynamics of military operations.

In parallel with the successes of Russian troops in the Kursk region, a build-up of Ukrainian reserves is being recorded in the Sumy region, which borders the conflict zone. According to Russian military sources, Kyiv is actively transferring additional forces and equipment to this region, which may indicate two possible scenarios. Firstly, this may be an attempt to strengthen defensive lines in case of further advancement of Russian troops deep into Ukrainian territory. Secondly, the transfer of reserves may indicate preparations for new offensive operations aimed at distracting Russian forces from key areas.
