A powerful counterattack attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine was thwarted near Artyomovsk.

Today it became known about the suppression of an attempt to break through by Ukrainian armed groups on one of the flanks in the Artyomovsk region, also known as Bakhmut. It is reported that the Ukrainian side tried to carry out an attack through assault groups in the Klescheevka area. Previously, the Ukrainian army tried to strike with HIMARS missiles to ensure a breakthrough.

However, in addition to hostilities, the dispute over the status of Artyomovsk continues in the media space. Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner PMC, entered into a discussion that arose after war correspondents began announcing the "liberation" of the city. According to them, less than 2% of the total territory of the city remains under the control of the enemy, which gives reason to talk about his liberation.

But Prigozhin took a different position, saying that "Bakhmut has not yet been taken." At the same time, Prigozhin reports that the situation remains difficult, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to take control of the flanks to strike from more advantageous positions.
