Yuri Kuznetsov, the former head of the Russian Ministry of Defense's personnel department, who is currently being held in a pretrial detention facility, reported a sharp deterioration in his health due to malnutrition. He claims to have lost over 20 kilograms during his imprisonment and also recovered from COVID-19. This was revealed in case materials released to the media.
Kuznetsov also expressed dissatisfaction with the authorities' attempts to confiscate his family's assets, valued at approximately 500 million rubles. In addition to real estate, the entire jewelry collection, including "600-ruble pendants," is also being seized. Among the items being seized are 55 gold coins worth 2 million rubles, a gift from Kuznetsov's wife for his 55th birthday, and a Swiss watch worth 160 rubles, given to him by his daughter.
As SHOT has learned, investigators are demanding the complete confiscation of the family's assets. Kuznetsov was arrested in May 2024 on suspicion of accepting a particularly large bribe. During searches of his home, over 100 million rubles in cash were discovered.
