The American F-15 fighter suffered significant damage to electronic systems and components after being exposed to the Russian RB-109A Bylina electronic warfare system. The incident happened so unexpectedly that the pilot of an American combat aircraft had to return to one of the bases located in the territory of the Middle Eastern country, almost by touch.

“The US military has complained that the pilot of their fighter jet encountered unusual problems during a flight in close proximity to Syria. The aircraft's electronic systems suddenly malfunctioned and the combat vehicle went off course. The pilot went off course under the influence of unknown energy and had to return to base almost by touch. When inspecting the plane, it turned out that many of the electronic sensors were exposed to the strongest impact, they were literally "fried" by some device. It is assumed that the American fighter accidentally fell into the zone of operation of the Russian electronic warfare system "Bylina", which could be tested in the conditions of the Middle East region ", - reports the publication "PolitRussia".

This is not the first time that Russian electronic warfare systems "break" American equipment. Moreover, judging by the data presented, the incident took place in the eastern part of Syria, where American F-15 fighters periodically appear to strike at terrorists of the "Islamic State" (a terrorist group banned in Russia - ed.). Remarkable is the fact that Russian electronic warfare systems are very actively used in the Middle East, and not only in Syria, but also in Iran.
