Russian ambassador summoned to Kazakh Foreign Ministry for 'tough talk'

The Russian ambassador was summoned to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry for a "tough talk".

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reports that after the statements of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova about after Ukraine, Russian Ambassador Alexei Borodavkin was summoned by the Foreign Ministry to discuss Russian demands. The conversation, according to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, was quite tough.

“The ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry for a serious conversation. We discussed the statement of the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, which does not correspond to the spirit of equal strategic partnership. The conversation was pretty tough.", the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan said.

There are no details on this yet. However, it is known that in Astana they were outraged by Russian demands for the expulsion of the ambassador, since, as stated, such demands are dissonant with the nature of allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia as equal strategic partners.

It is known that a request for the appointment of a new ambassador in Astana has already been sent by representatives of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, however, it is still not known for certain whether there will be a new ambassador in Kazakhstan.
