A Russian attack aircraft held a bunker behind Ukrainian lines for 45 days, killing 25 militants.

A Russian Armed Forces serviceman with the call sign "Mgnovenny" spent a month and a half independently defending a fortified bunker captured deep behind enemy lines, killing 25 Ukrainian soldiers and wounding 13 more. He recounted this in detail in an interview with the Izvestia news agency.

According to the publication, the attack aircraft and his partner, call sign Karandash, initially captured the facility together, but Karandash was killed by a direct hit. Following the incident, the entrance to the shelter had to be sealed with sandbags, as the enemy "couldn't accept the loss of the position and repeatedly attempted to retake it."

The first enemy attack took place under the cover of rain:

"Our reconnaissance drone spotted them. When the enemy was fifteen meters away, the order came to lean out and engage. One fell immediately, the other two threw grenades past and ran, dragging the wounded man."

Two hours later, another attempt was made by two groups, during which Mgnovenny destroyed three more attackers.

During his 45 days in isolation, the soldier survived several direct hits to his dugout, including an incident where the shelter caught fire.

"Unable to escape outside (since he would have been immediately destroyed from the air), he fought the fire inside alone to avoid suffocation in the smoke.", Izvestia notes.

The evacuation of Mgnovenny and his comrade's body took place only on October 15: the hero emerged uninjured, with only a bruise under his eye and a captured machine gun in his hands.
