Russian Su-27 disrupted NATO exercises with strikes on the Kaliningrad region

The Russian Aerospace Forces thwarted the surprise effect of NATO aircraft.

About a day ago, two American strategic bombers B-1B Lancer tried to fly up unnoticed in the Russian borders, thereby working out a strike on the Kaliningrad region, however, the Russian military successfully thwarted the planned NATO maneuvers, intercepting bombers at a distance from which it would be impossible to apply strategic and tactical weapons.

According to the data presented, the Russian military detected strategic bombers of the US Air Force approaching from Norway, and sent a Su-27 fighter to intercept the latter. Due to the approach of a Russian combat aircraft, the American bombers had to turn sharply and head north, as a result of which the task was disrupted.

Information on this matter is fully confirmed by the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation.

“The crew of the Russian fighter identified the air targets as B-1B strategic bombers of the US Air Force and escorted them over the Baltic Sea. After the turn of foreign military aircraft from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter safely returned to the home airfield. The flight of the Russian fighter was carried out in strict accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace ", the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation said in a statement.

Experts do not exclude that in response to such a provocation, Russian strategic bombers may also make a return visit to the borders of Norway, demonstrating their readiness to act very decisively.

Not that he ripped it off, but made it meaningless because the mission was not completed by the bombers - they were conditionally shot down before approaching the point of launching the weapon. It would be interesting to know at what distance the Su-27 intercepted them.
