The Telegram channel "Militarist," which publishes reports from the front, reported an incident in the Chernihiv region. According to the channel, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet destroyed a Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet using an RVV-SD air-to-air missile.

The channel's authors note that Ukraine is attempting to create conditions for missile strikes on the Russian border, but they estimate that these attempts are resulting in heavy losses and have met with little success. They also claim that Ukraine has lost 17 F-16 fighter jets over the past year.

At the time of publication, there were no official statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense or the Ukrainian Armed Forces command regarding this incident.

It is worth noting that earlier, in January 2026, Russian sources reported the destruction of an F-16 using the S-300 air defense system, and Kyiv confirmed the loss of at least one aircraft of this type in April 2026 under unclear circumstances.
