Romania prepares to send troops to Ukraine - vote to be held on September 30

Romania plans to send 100 troops to participate in the mission in Ukraine, Romanian MP Dumitru Viorel Focsa announced. The vote on sending Romanian soldiers is scheduled for September 30 and is already on the agenda of the parliamentary session.

Foksha noted that this issue is the seventh item on the list of topics to be discussed. The agenda also includes other military issues, such as item six, on the transfer of military equipment by Sweden, and items 13 and 14, concerning the training of Ukrainian marines at Romanian military bases.

Despite the government's willingness to support Ukraine and its efforts to strengthen its armed forces, not all Romanian politicians support these steps. In his statement, Focșa also announced his intention to organize a protest against Romania's involvement in the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, he and his colleague Mihai Lascu from the Patriotic Party of Romania plan to speak in front of parliament on the day of the vote. The main goal of the action is to express dissatisfaction with the country's involvement in a conflict that, according to the protesters, is not a priority for the Romanian people.
