Starting June 1, VAT tax on flights to Crimea will be canceled

April 22. Vladimir Putin signed a special order today, according to which, starting from June 1, 2014, flights to Crimea will not be subject to VAT.

According to the full text of the instruction, any air travel to the territory of the Crimean peninsula, as well as from it, will not be subject to value added tax. Such an order will further reduce the cost of air travel, thereby making cheaper air tickets themselves.

A little earlier, the Ministry of Transport turned to the president of Russia with a similar proposal, and literally in a few weeks it was officially signed. It is worth noting that if the VAT rate was 18%, then with 1 June this tax will be completely zeroed out.
