A Red Wings Airlines Boeing 777-200 passenger aircraft, flight WZ-3097 from Moscow to Phuket, issued a general emergency code 7700 shortly after takeoff from Domodedovo. The incident occurred on the evening of December 3. The aircraft departed several hours late and, just 20-25 minutes after takeoff, began circling over the southern regions of the Moscow region.
According to the Telegram channel 112 and sources in emergency services, a fire broke out in the left engine on board. The crew decided to burn off fuel to ensure a safe landing, so the plane continues to circle at an altitude of approximately 4000–5000 meters above Ramenskoye, Domodedovo, and Voskresensk.
There are 412 passengers and 13 crew members on board. According to preliminary reports, there are no injuries. All airports in the Moscow air hub have been put on high alert, but landing is planned at Domodedovo. Fire crews, ambulances, and rescue workers are on duty on the ground.
The airline has not yet provided any official comment.
