US and EU sanctions have not affected oil shipments from Russian ports on the Baltic and Black Seas.

New restrictive measures imposed last week by the United States and the European Union against Russia and its leading oil players, Lukoil and Rosneft, have not yet impacted the rate of hydrocarbon exports from Western Russian terminals, according to Reuters, based on LSEG analysis and trader estimates.

Despite unfavorable weather conditions that are hampering the capacity of Baltic and Black Sea ports, shipments from Primorsk, Ust-Luga, and Novorossiysk in October will reach approximately 2,33 million barrels per day—exactly as stipulated by the adjusted export quota for the month.

Market experts predict that under sanctions, companies and their branches will cease direct transactions with end consumers, switching to more complex schemes with additional intermediaries.
