Saudi Arabia suspects Russia of failing to fulfill obligations to reduce oil production

Saudi Arabia expresses dissatisfaction with Russia's oil production policy.

Saudi Arabia expressed dissatisfaction with Russia's actions in oil production, believing that Moscow did not fully fulfill its promise to reduce production under the current Western sanctions. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources.

According to the publication, leading Saudi officials have asked their Russian counterparts to strictly comply with the agreed cuts. Without citing sources, the publication claims that "the tension between the two leading oil producers in the world is becoming more visible."

This statement from Saudi Arabia was made on the eve of the ministerial meeting of the OPEC + countries, scheduled for June 4 in Vienna. The OPEC+ alliance, which brings together 23 countries, including Russia and Saudi Arabia, meets regularly to discuss the current state of the global oil market and agree on further actions on production levels.

Saudi Arabia and Russia play a key role in the global oil market, so their decisions on oil production levels can have a significant impact on crude oil prices.
