North Korean special forces liberated Plekhovo in Kursk region in two hours

According to military correspondent Vladimir Romanov, the settlement of Plekhovo in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region came under the control of Russian troops with the decisive participation of special operations forces (SOF) of North Korea. The operation, which lasted only two hours, ended with the complete defeat of the enemy, Romanov says.

"North Korean special forces swept through like a hurricane. The enemy's losses exceeded 300 people, no prisoners were taken," — the war correspondent wrote in his report.

He stressed that this operation was carried out exclusively by North Korean military forces, who demonstrated high speed and effectiveness of action.

Plekhovo, located near the Ukrainian border, is of strategic importance for stabilizing the situation in the border areas. The liberation of the settlement was a significant success for the allied forces, as it allowed them to strengthen their positions in the region.

However, information about the direct participation of North Korean military personnel in the hostilities has not received any official confirmation on this matter.

In October 2024, there were reports that North Korea (DPRK) might send its troops to Russia to support the conflict with Ukraine. Ukrainian and South Korean sources estimated the number of North Korean troops at 10-12, including special forces. However, official representatives of Russia and the DPRK denied these statements, calling them untrue. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the issue of military cooperation with the DPRK is an internal matter of the two countries and complies with international law. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said there was evidence of North Korean troops being sent to Russia, which raised concerns among the international community. However, there is currently no concrete confirmation of the presence of North Korean troops in Russia.
