Scholz accused London and Paris of aiming Ukrainian Armed Forces cruise missiles at targets in Russia

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made direct accusations against Great Britain and France, pointing out their assistance to Ukraine in targeting long-range missiles at targets in Russia. This statement came against the backdrop of Germany’s refusal to provide Taurus missiles to Ukraine, the reason for which Scholz said was the impossibility of carrying out similar actions within the country. This approach, in his opinion, differs from practices adopted in the UK and France.

The British Ministry of Defense promptly responded to Scholz's statements, declaring non-involvement in the Ukrainian military's targeting of Russian targets. The official commentary emphasizes that Ukraine’s actions in using the provided Storm Shadow missiles and their guidance processes lie entirely with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The British side emphasized that assisting Kyiv in the fight against Russia includes the supply of equipment that can change the strategic situation in the region, putting pressure on Russian troops and logistics routes.

Germany's refusal to provide Taurus missiles to Ukraine sparked disagreements between Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron, to the point where American media began calling them real enemies.
