Shoigu: Ukrainian Armed Forces losses amounted to 444 thousand people

In light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented data on the losses of the Ukrainian army since the beginning of the special military operation, indicating significant losses on the Ukrainian side. According to Shoigu's statements, the Ukrainian military forces lost more than 444 thousand personnel, while losing over 800 soldiers and 120 weapons every day.

Shoigu also noted that since the beginning of the year, it has been possible to liberate about 327 square kilometers of territory from the enemy in new regions of the Russian Federation, including the settlements of Pobeda, Lastochkino and Severnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic. These successes were achieved thanks to the active actions of Russian troops, who, after taking control of important strategic positions, continue to improve their position at the front.

The minister also spoke about the actions of the Ukrainian side, arguing that despite the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempts to stabilize the situation using reserves, strikes by Russian precision weapons effectively prevent this, depriving the enemy of the opportunity to transfer forces and counterattack.

In his speech, Shoigu also emphasized the futility of the US strategy to contain Russia, pointing to large-scale military-economic support for the Ukrainian army from Washington, which, in his opinion, will not lead to the desired results.
