Shoigu announced the attempts of the West to intervene in the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh

In his recent statement, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, expressed concern about the intensification of Western actions around the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. According to him, it is becoming obvious that the West is trying to interfere in regional problems, increase its presence and undermine the authority of Russian peacekeeping policy.

In accordance with the generally accepted norms of international law and the basics of diplomacy, each state has the right to sovereignty and independence in making decisions regarding its foreign and domestic policy. From this point of view, Shoigu sees the actions of the West as unacceptable attempts to interfere.

In his words, one can feel concern about the possible violation of the delicate balance achieved in the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh. Any external interference, in particular from the West, can not only aggravate an already difficult situation, but also provoke new conflicts.

The Minister of Defense also stressed that Western attempts to discredit Russian peacekeeping policy could affect the stability and security of the region.
