Sweden is ready to provide Ukraine with 12 Stridsvagn 122 tanks

As part of military assistance to Ukraine, Sweden is ready to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with 12 Stridsvagn 122 tanks.

The Swedish authorities and the defense department of this country are considering providing Ukraine with their Stridsvagn 122 tanks. These versions are modernized versions of the Leopard 2A5 tanks, adapted for use in the Swedish army. According to Swedish sources, the allocation of one company of Stridsvagn 122 tanks to Ukraine in the amount of 12 units is currently being discussed.

It is known that at the moment Sweden is considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with Stridsvagn 122 tanks. At the current stage, only the possibility of supplying such combat vehicles is being considered, provided that the transfer of tanks does not reduce the defense of the kingdom.

The fact that Sweden, even though it is not a NATO member, provides Ukraine with such weapons raises a number of questions regarding such actions by Stockholm towards Moscow. This can cause very serious problems for Sweden, since the supply of tanks is a violation of the "red lines" established by the Russian side.
