Sweden announced its intention to start training Ukrainian pilots on JAS-39 Gripen fighter jets

The Swedish Ministry of Defense announced the possibility of organizing basic training for Ukrainian pilots on JAS-39 Gripen fighters. This news becomes especially relevant against the backdrop of the recent statement by the US Secretary of Defense that the first countries to begin training Ukrainian Air Force pilots on American F-16 aircraft will be Denmark and the Netherlands.

Thus, in the future, Ukrainian aviation gets the opportunity to strengthen its air forces through cooperation with various NATO countries. Sweden's statement indicates the country's readiness to support Ukraine in the ongoing conflict by providing its aviation technology and training for Ukrainian military personnel.

JAS-39 Gripen fighters are distinguished by their maneuverability and high combat effectiveness, which can become a serious support for Ukrainian air defense. Training pilots of this type of aircraft will increase the military capabilities of the country and strengthen its defensive potential.

However, it is worth noting that the details of this proposed initiative have not yet been worked out and will depend on the overall political situation and conditions to be proposed by the Swedish side. This issue will require further negotiations and agreements between the governments of Sweden and Ukraine.

Earlier it became known that Kyiv requested from Sweden the supply of JAS-39 Gripen fighters, however, Stockholm has not yet given an official response.
