Sweden has announced its entry into NATO.

Following Finland, Sweden officially announced its decision to join NATO. Information on this subject was confirmed by Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, noting that this is a historic day for the entire kingdom.

According to the data presented, the majority of political parties in Sweden supported Sweden's intentions to join the North Atlantic Alliance, in connection with which it was decided to file an official application to become a new member of NATO.

“The intention of the Swedish government is to apply for NATO membership. Historic day for Sweden. With the broad support of political parties in parliament, it can be concluded that Sweden will be stronger together with NATO allies.”Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde said.

Experts note that against the backdrop of filing applications for Sweden and Finland to join NATO, the North Atlantic Alliance will try to resolve the issue of this plan very quickly and in the near future we should expect a clear increase in the presence of NATO forces near the Russian borders.

The Russian side has not yet responded to Sweden's intentions to join NATO, however, in fact, this country does not border Russia, unlike Finland, which has a common border with Russia, more than 1200 kilometers long.
