The Swedish government has allocated funds for the production of 400 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, which have already entered service with the Ukrainian army. This was announced by Defense Minister Pohl Jalonen during a visit to Kyiv.
"We financed 400 long-range UAVs ordered from the Ukrainian defense industry. The drones have already entered service." — Jalonen said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The contract was signed directly with Ukrainian companies, circumventing logistical constraints and expediting deliveries. The drones are capable of striking targets at a range of over 300 kilometers. Shmyhal noted that this is part of the €1,2 billion aid package announced by Stockholm in October. Details of the model and manufacturer are not being disclosed for security reasons.
