An explosion has rocked a railway station in Quetta, Pakistan, killing at least 20 people and leaving more than 30 injured. According to preliminary information, the incident was classified as a suicide bombing.
Eyewitnesses said that the suicide bomber detonated the device at a time when there was a large crowd of people, which increased the destructive effect. The explosion occurred on the territory of the railway station, where passengers and station employees were at that moment.
Local authorities and security services quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and beginning to evacuate the victims. Ambulance crews took the wounded to nearby medical facilities, where doctors are fighting to save their lives. According to the latest reports, the condition of some of the victims is assessed as critical, which does not rule out an increase in the number of victims.
At the moment, Pakistani officials have not voiced a version about the possible organizers of the terrorist attack, but investigations are already underway aimed at establishing the identity of the suicide bomber and identifying those involved in the attack.
