Simonyan: I am the only Armenian who is officially prohibited from entering Armenia

Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT and Sputnik, expressed her attitude towards the current leadership of Armenia in her Telegram channel. She emphasized that she is the only Armenian in the millennia-long history of the people who is officially prohibited from entering Armenia. Simonyan noted that she visited Armenia only twice: the first time at the age of 24 on a business trip with President Putin, the second time at the age of 37 on a tourist trip.

“I am the only Armenian in the millennia-long history of the Armenian people who is officially prohibited from entering Armenia. Not that it matters to me - I have been to Armenia twice in my life: the first time at 24 years old on a business trip with President Putin, the second time in 37 years old - on a tourist trip with my husband and his friends, who really wanted to show me the 'historical Motherland'"Simonyan said.

Simonyan expressed skepticism towards the concept of a “historical Motherland,” emphasizing that the Motherland for her is where she was born and raised, namely in Krasnodar. She also said that she had no plans to visit Armenia in the next 15 years, but believes that the ban imposed on her says a lot about the current Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, describing him as “a touchy, dissatisfied teenager in love with wielding power.”
