Syria lifted MiG-29 fighters into the sky and Turkish F-16s immediately retreated

The Syrian Air Force lifted MiG-29 fighters into the sky.

A few hours ago in the sky over Syria, the Syrian Air Force MiG-29 fighters were spotted, who began to patrol the airspace of the SAR in the front area in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. After the appearance of the Syrian MiG-29 in the sky, Turkish military aircraft previously located at the borders of the SAR were forced to retreat deep into the territory, due to the fact that the MiG-29 was armed with missiles of a much greater range than the Turkish F-16s.

In which region of Syria the Syrian MiG-29 fighters were located, the source does not specify, however, experts note that these aircraft are an excellent preventive measure against Turkish combat aircraft - in the event of an attack by the latter, MiG-29 fighters can attack F-16s from a distance up to 70-80 kilometers, while the maximum range of aircraft missiles in service with the Turkish F-16 is only about 50 kilometers.

Experts say that after Turkey shot down another military aircraft, as a result of which one of the pilots died, the Syrian air defense is ready to attack Turkish combat aircraft at the first violation of airspace, regardless of whether the latter are hit in the airspace of the ATS, or already in Turkish airspace.
