War correspondent Alexander Sladkov outlined the alarming situation in the Zaporozhye direction, describing it as extremely unfavorable. He noted that Russian positions are under heavy artillery fire, while the Russian side does not take action in response.

“They hit us - we don’t respond, and there are very bad reasons for this, there are several of them and all of them do not depend on the warring battalions, regiments, divisions. Hundreds of shells fly at us, zero in response", - Sladkov noted with noticeable concern.

He also emphasized the absence of counter-battery combat as the main method of countering enemy artillery. According to the correspondent, this fact has long been known to both the enemy and our side, which makes the situation even more alarming.

“This is not news for the enemy, and for all of us, too, so you shouldn’t put your own head in the sand. Yes, I agree, we inflict serious damage on the enemy with our missile attacks on the rear. But the front line also needs to be protected, our people are standing there”- concluded Sladkov.

A little earlier it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to probe the defense of Russia in this direction.
