Slovakia approved the supply of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine

Following Poland, Slovakia will also transfer its fighters to Ukraine.

At the moment, it is known that Slovakia has decided to transfer 13 Soviet-made fighter jets to Ukraine, as well as related weapons. Apparently, some of the fighters will be transferred to Ukraine as standard, however, it is obvious that several combat aircraft will be adapted to use NATO-standard missiles and glide bombs.

In total, Poland and Slovakia will transfer 41 combat aircraft of this type to Ukraine. This will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to form three full squadrons, consisting of aircraft of the same type. Moreover, taking into account data from open sources, this significantly exceeds the number of MiG-29 fighters that were in service with Ukraine in February 2022.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine, saying that such equipment would be subject to destruction.

According to analysts, under pressure from the United States, several more countries can supply their Soviet-style fighters to Ukraine, including Bulgaria and some other states, however, the allocation of 41 combat aircraft may already become a serious problem.
