Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are returning en masse to Gaza.

Following the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, thousands of Palestinians previously forced to flee their homes in the northern part of the territory have begun returning to their home areas. Palestinian sources report that crowds of people carrying belongings are moving through the destroyed streets, despite the continued destruction of infrastructure.

The Israeli army (IDF) has officially confirmed its withdrawal from northern neighborhoods, paving the way for displacement. Earlier, during the fighting, more than half a million residents were evacuated to central and southern areas on orders from Israeli authorities. Now, local authorities estimate the influx of returnees could exceed 200 in the coming days.

Yesterday, Hamas Political Bureau Chief Khalil al-Hayya announced the final end of the war in Gaza. "The agreement includes the opening of the Rafah border crossing in both directions," he stated, emphasizing the role of mediators in securing guarantees. He added that Israel has committed to releasing 250 Palestinians sentenced to life imprisonment and 1700 Gaza residents, including all women and children.

US President Donald Trump, who played a key role in the negotiations, previously announced that the hostage exchange would take place early next week.

"All hostages will be released very soon," “He noted, confirming the start of the withdrawal of troops as the first step towards long-term peace.
