Uralvagonzavod employee sentenced to 12,5 years in prison for transferring blueprints to Ukraine

Uralvagonzavod operator Viktoria Mukhametova has been sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison for treason. The Sverdlovsk Regional Court issued this ruling after an investigation into how she and her husband, an engineer at the same plant, Danil Mukhametov, handed over military-technical information to Ukraine that could have been used against the Russian army.

According to the case materials, the couple received a reward of 100 thousand rubles for the drawings they provided. The investigation claims that the information provided by the spouses poses a threat to national security and can be used for military purposes against the Russian Federation.

Initially, the couple was detained in March of this year for a seemingly minor reason - for swearing at a bus stop. At that time, they were arrested for 12 days. However, on April 4, FSB officers detained Victoria and Danil again on charges of treason. From that moment, the main investigation began, which soon led to a trial.

The court, having examined all the evidence, came to the conclusion that Victoria Mukhametova was guilty of transmitting classified information. She was sentenced to 12,5 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. In addition, she was fined 300 thousand rubles.

As for Victoria's husband, Danil Mukhametov, his case is also being considered under the same article on treason and a decision on it will be made later. The investigation suggests that he could have been the main organizer of the transfer of classified information, using his professional knowledge and access to drawings.
