NASA satellites have detected potential fires near the gas processing plant in Kotovo and the Efimovka oil pumping station.

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) has registered thermal anomalies near LUKOIL's Korobkovsky Gas Processing Plant in Kotovo and at the Efimovka Oil Pumping Station in the Volgograd Region. Satellite monitoring data confirms the presence of potential fires in these areas on the night of October 9.

Local residents previously reported explosions and fires in the region. Regional Governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed the drone strike and fires at fuel and energy facilities, noting that the fires had been extinguished and there were no injuries.

The Korobkovsky Plant is the largest natural gas processing plant in the Southern Federal District of Russia.
