Yemen's air defense systems failed to shoot down a single missile

Yemen's air defense systems were unable to effectively repel an attack from the United States and Great Britain. According to preliminary data, out of 40 strikes carried out, the Houthis failed to shoot down a single missile. Despite this, fewer explosions were recorded than expected, which may indicate technical malfunctions of the missiles or their deviation from the planned coordinates. The first explosions in Yemen were recorded at 2:30 a.m. Moscow time, including at least six powerful explosions in Hodeidah, followed by explosions in Saada, Sanaa and other major Houthi-controlled cities.

After the airstrikes, Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched using American and British aircraft. For this purpose, a US Navy aircraft carrier strike group located off the coast of Yemen is involved.

The Pentagon has officially confirmed the fact of attacks on Yemen. According to the US military, the attacks targeted about 10 Houthi targets, including drone production centers and warehouses.

The failure of Yemen's air defense systems to repel the attack underlines the technological superiority of Western countries, although the supply of Iranian air defense systems has previously been reported.
