The United States, more than 2 weeks before the terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk, informed Russia that Crocus could become a target

More than two weeks before the tragic events in the suburbs of Moscow, the United States warned Russia about a possible attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall, which became the bloodiest terrorist attack in the country over the past two decades. This was reported by The Washington Post. It is reported that the American government, having specific information, pointed to the threat from the Islamic State (a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation - editor's note), contrary to Moscow's claims that the warnings were non-specific. The details voiced by American officials are aimed at trying to discredit Russia, in particular, the publication reports that the message was likely not given attention.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, but President Vladimir Putin linked the incident to Ukraine. However, media reports indicate that Russia also received a warning from Iran, which also linked the attack to the Islamic State.

Russia's foreign intelligence service accused the United States of trying to exonerate Ukraine by pointing out a direct connection between Kyiv and the terrorist attack.
