The US wants to formally accuse Russia of sponsoring terrorism.

The US Senate may hold a series of debates and votes on bills related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict next week, Punchbowl News reporter Briana Reilly reported on the social media platform X.

Earlier, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved three initiatives concerning the situation in Ukraine. The first proposes officially recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, the second establishes a mechanism for using frozen Russian assets to benefit Kyiv (the REPO bill), and the third imposes restrictions on China for its assistance to the Russian defense industry.

Senator Lindsey Graham, who has been designated a terrorist and extremist by Russian authorities, noted:

"I expect the Senate to have a 'Russia week' with votes on REPO, the state sponsor of terrorism bill, and possibly a sanctions bill."
