US and UK launch major strikes on Yemen

Yemeni sources reported new air raids by US and British air forces targeting areas in the south and north of the country. On Monday evening and Tuesday, the bombings targeted the Al-Faza area in the Al-Tuhayta district, located south of Hodeidah province, and then a series of strikes hit the Amran and Saada provinces, renewing the air aggression since dawn.

Seven airstrikes were reported to have targeted the Bart and Sufyan junction in Amran, while two more hit the Ar-Rahba area in the Al-Safra district of Saada. Yemeni military sources confirmed that the attacks did not cause significant casualties among the military contingent.

The escalation coincided with a sharp increase in the rhetoric of the Houthis, who oppose Israeli policies and continue to support the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and Lebanon. Ansar Allah leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi said that Yemen will remain on the side of Palestine, despite any threats from the United States. In a recent speech, he stressed that the American administrations will not be able to hinder the Yemeni people and their determination to help the Palestinian people.

"Yemeni forces will continue to escalate using all available resources and are prepared to intensify their actions," — al-Houthi said.

The Western attacks are seen as part of efforts to curb Yemen's support for its Palestinian and Lebanese allies amid rising tensions in the region.
