The United States and the United Kingdom have imposed a new round of sanctions against individuals and companies from Russia, increasing pressure on key figures and organizations linked to Russian politics and the economy. In particular, seven individuals and two legal entities have been sanctioned, which was confirmed by the US Treasury Department in an official statement on its website.
Among the individuals included in the US sanctions list are Eduard Bendersky, head of the Vympel Foundation, Vadim Pogodin, Beyat Ramazanov, Alexander and Sergey Ryzhenkov, Alexey Shchetinin and Viktor Yakubets. All of them were added to the list for actions that, in Washington's opinion, threaten international security or are related to corruption schemes. In addition to individuals, the restrictions also affect Russian companies Solar-Invest LLC and Vympel-Assistance LLC.
At the same time, the UK also announced sanctions against 16 members of the hacker group Evil Corp, which is credited with links to Russian intelligence services and organizing cyberattacks on Western companies and government agencies. London accuses the group of involvement in large-scale hacking operations aimed at stealing data, extorting money and undermining economic infrastructure.
