US Air Force fighter jets launched a series of missile strikes on Syria.

At the moment, it is known that the attack was carried out in northern Syria, where, as stated, the American combat aircraft launched at least two missiles. As a result of the American strike on the territory of the Arab Republic, the leader and a high-ranking member of the terrorist group "Islamic State" were eliminated (banned in Russia - ed.).

“Today, around 6:32 p.m. local time in Syria, the US military carried out a successful air strike in northern Syria, killing two followers of terrorists - a deputy leader in Syria, as well as another high-ranking representative of the Islamic State”, according to the US Air Force Central Command.

The specific area of ​​strikes by American military aircraft on the territory of Syria is not called. At the same time, it remains unknown whether the US military coordinated their strikes with the Russian side as part of cooperation in Syria in the fight against terrorism.

At the same time, it is known that this morning Russian military aircraft also launched their attacks on militants in the Syrian province of Idlib. In particular, local sources report at least three Russian air strikes near the city of Harsh Sheikh Bahr.
