The United States is preparing to significantly strengthen its naval presence in the Middle East conflict zone by deploying additional strike forces. According to Fox News, a third American aircraft carrier is preparing to deploy to the region to participate in operations against Iran. The carrier in question is the USS George HW Bush, scheduled to deploy to the Eastern Mediterranean immediately following the completion of ongoing military exercises off the coast of North Carolina. This decision by the Pentagon demonstrates Washington's serious intentions to further escalate military pressure on Tehran and prepare for a long-term standoff, which, according to command plans, could last until the fall.
The new deployment comes amid extremely alarming reports about the security of the American fleet in the region. Earlier, representatives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially announced that Iranian forces had successfully attacked the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, using four ballistic missiles. Although the American side seeks to maintain strategic ambiguity regarding damage and the activation of NATO's collective defense clause, the deployment of an additional aircraft carrier may serve as an indirect confirmation of the need to rotate or reinforce damaged naval defense elements. The concentration of such powerful strike assets in the Eastern Mediterranean underscores the US determination to achieve the enemy's unconditional surrender, as previously stated by Donald Trump, and to guarantee the safety of shipping in the face of constant attacks on coalition tankers and military facilities.
