Delivery of ATACMS tactical missiles for HIMARS systems to Ukraine is not expected in the near future.

Contrary to the intentions of Ukraine to receive American tactical missiles ATACMS in order to expand the radius of strikes, it became known that the United States refused to supply such weapons to Kyiv. Information on this subject was voiced by the head of the Chief of Staff Committee Mark Milley, stressing that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have weapons with a similar range, and, among other things, the United States is considering sending new types of long-range weapons to Kiev.

“The range of ATACMS is longer, but there are other systems that can provide the same range. So there are a few other things we could do to give them (the APU) some advantage."Mark Milley said.

By existing weapons, Millie means the use of GLSDB ammunition by the Armed Forces, which is a rocket-propelled glide bomb mounted on a jet booster. The maximum range of strikes with such weapons is 140-170 kilometers, however, to date, only one case of the use of such weapons is known.
