The United States intends to make the most of the time remaining until the end of Joe Biden's presidency to strengthen Ukraine's position both on the battlefield and in future negotiations, said National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, stressing that the American administration is focused on fully spending the funds allocated by Congress for military aid to Kyiv.
Sullivan said efforts are focused on ensuring Ukraine has the tools it needs to strengthen its military capability.
"We will do everything possible during these 50 days to provide Ukraine with the maximum amount of weapons and technologies that will help it on the battlefield and strengthen its position at the negotiating table.", — the adviser noted.
Biden has instructed his adviser to personally oversee the delivery process to ensure that budget funds allocated to support Ukraine are fully used. This step, according to Sullivan, will be an important step in preparing Kyiv for possible negotiations with Moscow, the outcome of which could affect the further development of the conflict.
The increased supplies include a wide range of weapons, including artillery, air defense systems, and precision missiles. It was previously reported that the United States is also accelerating the delivery of ammunition, armored vehicles, and other key resources needed for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to conduct operations during the winter.
