US announces troop withdrawal from Niger

According to the international agency Reuters, the Pentagon decided to transfer part of the military contingent and equipment from Niger. According to sources in the US military department, such a step will be taken "for reasons of caution."

It is worth noting that American officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not specify the exact number of troops that will be withdrawn from Niger and how many will be redeployed to other regions. Before this decision, there were approximately 1100 American soldiers in the country.

The Pentagon's decision to move part of the troops may be associated with a change in the situation in the region, although Niger did not officially demand that the United States withdraw its troops from the country's territory.

According to unofficial data, 250 American troops will leave Niger.
