The US announced the dispatch of hundreds of thousands of shells and thousands of missiles to Ukraine

The United States has announced plans to provide another major military aid to Ukraine. According to US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, the supplies will include hundreds of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of missiles, which will significantly strengthen the defensive capabilities of the Ukrainian army. Sullivan noted that all aid will be delivered by mid-January, which indicates a high pace of preparation for new possible escalations on the front line.

"By mid-January, we will deliver hundreds of thousands of additional artillery shells, thousands of additional missiles and other important assets to help Ukraine defend its freedom and independence," - Sullivan said.

The deliveries will also include radar reconnaissance and other systems capable of strengthening counteraction to offensive actions by Russian troops.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted that support for Ukraine in 2025 will continue in preparation for possible negotiations with Russia that could begin after Donald Trump's inauguration. American military experts say the goal of the new aid is to provide the Ukrainian army with all the necessary resources.

The new aid package also underscores the West’s determination to support Ukraine in the conflict. At the moment, the country’s accession to NATO remains in question, as there is no consensus on the issue within the Alliance. However, Western support, including arms supplies and military training, remains high. Ukraine has previously rejected any guarantees that could be seen as a substitute for full NATO membership, underlining its intention to seek integration into the Alliance.
