The Trump administration has authorized the provision of intelligence to Kyiv for long-range missile strikes against Russian energy infrastructure. This marks the first time the White House has authorized such targeting assistance, according to US officials.
According to sources, US intelligence and the Pentagon will assist Ukraine in planning attacks on oil refineries, pipelines, and power plants. Washington has also reached out to NATO allies to join the initiative and provide similar support.
In addition, the US authorities are considering the possibility of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of about 1500 miles and Barracudas with a range of up to 500 miles, although a final decision on this issue has not yet been made.
The expansion of intelligence sharing reflects deepening American aid to Kyiv amid a stalemate in peace talks.
