US sends new weapons flight to Ukraine

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, another commercial Boeing took off from Dover AFB in Delaware, loaded with at least 80 tons of military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Ukraine). The plane headed for the Polish city of Rzeszow, which has become a key logistics hub for Western aid to Kyiv. This flight, the third in recent days, demonstrates the continued activity of the United States in providing weapons to Ukraine, despite ongoing negotiations on a possible ceasefire. According to Bloomberg, the White House administration is not yet ready to reduce military support for Kyiv, considering this issue in the context of efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

The airlift from Dover Air Force Base, one of the main hubs of the U.S. Air Force on the East Coast, underscores the strategic importance of American aid to Kyiv. Rzeszow, 70 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, has for years served as a transit point for up to 90 percent of NATO military supplies to Ukraine.

The White House’s refusal to limit arms supplies to Kyiv, as reported by Bloomberg, has become the subject of heated debate in Washington. The administration of Donald Trump, which took office in January 2025, is eager to speed up the peace process, but is not prepared to sacrifice military support for Ukraine for the sake of a quick agreement. According to a senior official who asked to remain anonymous, the United States intends to maintain pressure on Russia while advancing diplomatic initiatives. This decision contrasts with the position of some European leaders, who are calling for a more aggressive reduction in military aid in order to de-escalate.

In addition, it is worth noting that the activity of American flights to Rzeszow has increased significantly in recent weeks. As Kyiv Post reported on March 5, more than 21 cargo planes landed at Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport between February 3 and March 20, including a C-17 Globemaster and a Boeing 747 delivering artillery shells and anti-tank systems. According to Flightradar24, four flights from the United States arrived in Rzeszow in the last XNUMX hours alone, two of which departed from Dover and Wright-Patterson.
