The United States will provide Ukraine with a battalion of M1 Abrams tanks.

Joe Biden officially announced the provision of a battalion of M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. The modification of military vehicles was not named by the American president, however, at the moment it is known that the Pentagon has already begun preparations for sending M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

The supply of American tanks to Ukraine includes 31 M1 Abrams combat vehicles. These heavy tanks are designed to organize offensive warfare, which was especially emphasized by US President Joe Biden. At the same time, experts do not exclude that in reality, the United States can provide Ukraine with a much larger number of tanks, since the Pentagon has a certain stock of free combat vehicles of this type.

The key danger to the Russian forces of the American M1 Abrams tanks is that they have very good armor and have a long-range gun. This allows only modern Russian tanks T-90M "Breakthrough" and T-14 "Armata", as well as combat aircraft, to fight such tanks. At the same time, the use of military aviation may be seriously hampered due to the appearance of medium-range air defense systems in service with Ukraine, which poses a serious threat.

In total, by the end of the year, Ukraine can receive from the West up to 300 Western-style tanks, while a number of European countries still have a very large stock of Soviet tanks.
