Ukraine will receive one of the most modern modifications of the M1 Abrams tank from the United States.

CNBC reports that the version of the Abrams delivered to Ukraine will be the M1A1. These fighting vehicles are among the most modern versions of American tanks. Moreover, according to a number of data, the choice in favor of this version of American combat vehicles was to study the capabilities of Russian anti-tank systems and T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks - in the United States they believe that the M1A1 "Abrams" version will be able to withstand these weapons.

During the official announcement of the supply of M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, Joe Biden did not make any clarifications regarding the modification of these combat vehicles provided to Ukraine. However, the version voiced by the CNBC TV channel, taking into account the amount of military equipment supplied, is quite reliable, since one tank of the M1A1 Abrams version costs about 12 million dollars, and Ukraine will receive 31 tanks from the United States for a total of 400 million dollars (including the cost of additional equipment - ed.).

According to preliminary data, the M1A1 Abrams tanks will arrive in Ukraine only in May of this year, since the Ukrainian military has yet to be trained in the use of these combat vehicles.
