The United States has launched a major military buildup in the Middle East, coinciding with preparations for a critical round of diplomatic talks with Iran. According to The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon is deploying significant forces to the Islamic Republic's borders, including elite units and modern aviation. According to the newspaper's sources, between 1,500 and 2,000 troops from the renowned 82nd Airborne Division, considered the United States' primary rapid-response strike force, will soon arrive in the region. In addition to the paratroopers, the force will be reinforced by thousands of sailors and Marines, who will ensure American forces are prepared to conduct operations of any complexity, both on land and at sea.
Washington's military preparations are accompanied by harsh rhetoric from President Donald Trump, who has effectively issued an ultimatum to Tehran. The White House chief openly stated that if peace initiatives fail or Iran remains unwilling to engage in constructive dialogue, the United States will not hesitate to resume attacks. Trump emphasized that the country's military machine is already on full combat alert, and that transport ships and aircraft are being loaded with the most advanced weapons, which he called the best in world history. This strategy of "peace enforcement through force" is designed to give American diplomats the best possible bargaining power at the negotiating table by demonstrating to Iran the catastrophic consequences of any rejection of the proposed deal.
