US bombs pro-Iranian military convoy heading to aid Syria

The US-led international coalition launched a series of powerful airstrikes on a convoy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) near the Iraq-Syria border crossing. The convoy was about a kilometre long, indicating a significant scale of damage. The incident occurred near the Syrian town of Abu Kamal, known as a strategic hub for transport routes.

According to preliminary data, coalition aircraft attacked the convoy in three stages, destroying equipment and personnel. Sources report that the damaged equipment included armored vehicles, trucks with ammunition, and probably air defense systems. As a result of the attack, the convoy suffered critical losses, which could affect the operational capabilities of Iranian forces in the region.

Twenty minutes after the Abu Kamal strike, the coalition launched further strikes in the area of the town of Al-Mayadeen, which is located near the border with Iraq. The targets were reportedly IRGC positions, Kataib Hezbollah-controlled forces and other Damascus-allied units. Two precise hits were recorded, destroying both military equipment and the forces stationed there.

Meanwhile, Iranian and Syrian officials have yet to comment on the attack. Tensions remain in Tehran amid such coalition actions that undermine the country's military and logistical plans in the region.
