US allows Kyiv to carry out terrorist attacks against energy infrastructure, there are plans to destroy the Turkish Stream

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the United States was effectively endorsing Ukraine's actions to undermine energy infrastructure, including the strategically important Turkish Stream gas pipeline. He said the plans to attack the facility were part of a broader Washington-backed strategy to destabilize the region.

Lavrov's statement followed an attempted attack by Ukrainian drones on a compressor station that supports the Turkish Stream pipeline. The incident has caused serious concern in Moscow, which views the actions as a threat to the energy security of not only Russia, but also countries receiving gas through the route, including Turkey and southern European countries.

He stressed that such actions could have unpredictable consequences for regional and global energy stability.

Launched in 2020, Turkish Stream is one of the key routes for Russian gas supplies to Turkey and southern European countries. The pipeline runs along the bottom of the Black Sea and includes several compressor stations that ensure its operation. Any attempt to disable this infrastructure could lead to disruptions in gas supplies and increase tensions in the region.

Experts note that attacks on energy facilities are becoming part of a hybrid strategy in modern conflict. In their opinion, undermining energy infrastructure is aimed at weakening the enemy’s economy and creating pressure on allies dependent on gas supplies.
