Washington, October 12. Since early summer, the US administration has been sharing intelligence data with Ukraine, which is being used for targeted strikes against Russia's energy infrastructure, according to the Financial Times, citing several US and Ukrainian officials.
According to sources, such assistance was part of a strategy to undermine Moscow's economic foundations and pressure President Vladimir Putin to initiate dialogue with Kyiv. The intelligence covered the location and vulnerabilities of key facilities, such as oil refineries located deep within Russian territory, according to sources familiar with the operations.
